About Michelle

Michelle Herrera Mulligan edited and contributed a novella to Juicy Mangos (Atria Books, 2007), the first-ever literary collection of Latina erotica in English, which Pulitzer-Prize-winning author Oscar Hijuelos called “not only a tantalizing read, but a deeply rewarding one as well.”

In 2004, she co-edited Border-Line Personalities, (HarperCollins, 2004), a collection of essays on culture clash and the contemporary American Latina experience. She received an Outstanding Contributions to Hispanic Studies Award in spring of 2006. She has also been invited speak and give presentations at multiple universities, including Yale, Florida International University, and University of California, Los Angeles.

Michelle has worked as an author and journalist in New York City for thirteen years. She is a frequent contributor to Martha Stewart’s Body + Soul, and her articles have appeared in Time, Woman’s Day, Latina, House & Garden, and Publisher’s Weekly, among many others.

She is currently at work on her first novel.
